What is the Charity Polo Classic?

Charity Polo Classic was founded in early December 2011 by Advertising Executive and Professional Polo Player, Patrick Moraites and Chris Gannon. The men decided to combine their love for philanthropy and polo to create an event that is unlike any other in the Tampa Bay area. After reaching out to their business contacts and friends, the Inaugural Charity Polo Classic Planning Committee was created. The team was given the difficult task of conceptualizing and organizing a large-scale event in only three months. 12 years later this special, exciting and large scale polo event, is on track to raise more money than ever before. Charity Polo Classic

Every two years Charity Polo Classic selects benefiting charities through their highly competitive grant process. Along with the grant process, charity presentations are conducted, reviewed and formal decisions are determined and three main beneficiaries are chosen. In addition to the 3 main charities, in 2019 a pay-it-forward selection process was created in large part due to the success of the event and makeup of the planning committee’s dedication to leveraging their contacts throughout Tampa Bay (in the many areas it takes to throw a party with horses, fancy cars and fun cocktails) and more than twenty Tampa Bay nonprofit organizations have received much needed financial support.

Clothes To Kids X Charity Polo Classic

Charity Polo Classic and their Board of Directors has supported our mission since 2017. Charity Polo knows clothes matter and with their unwavering support and dedication we together provided more than 8,000 wardrobes to children in Greater Tampa Bay.

When you look good, you feel good. At Clothes To Kids, clothes matter every day. Clothes To Kids provides new and quality used clothing to low-income or in crisis school aged children, free of charge. Our stores are what differentiate us - with our free shopping experience, we boost the self-esteem and confidence of our shoppers while ensuring they have access to much-needed clothing. We have distributed more than 200,000 wardrobes since 2002.

We rely on both monetary and clothing donations from the community to fill our stores within the Greater Tampa Bay area (Clearwater, St. Pete, Tampa). Our third and most recent store location (Tampa) opened in large part with significant support from Charity Polo Classic. Together, we shop to Clothe a Kid, Change a Life.
